Game-Changing Canva Apps

Long gone are the days of there being a singular editing platform. Canva has proven itself strong enough to battle it out with competitors such as Adobe and Procreate. Canva is constantly at the cutting edge of innovation, consistently adding new features to its platform.

Their most underrated new feature has to be their “Apps” feature. It sits just below the “Projects” icon that can be found on the left-hand side of the screen when you click the  “Create a design” button. Once you click on the “Apps” icon, you'll be shown several plug-in applications Canva offers, and their constantly adding new ones. These are apps that usually, a designer needs to search for outside of the editing software of their choice. With Canva Pro, you get it all.

Some of these game-changing apps are:

  • D-ID AI Presenters

    • This app allows the creator to choose a presenter or upload one themselves. From there, you add your text of choice. Canvas plug-ins will then generate an AI presenter in moments. The creator can control the size, placement, background, and even the language and voice of the presenter.  This is an excellent feature that can be used for media campaigns, training presentations, and corporate communications.

  • Google Maps

    • This app function allows graphic designers to embed a map into their designs seamlessly.

  • Mockups

    • This free app provides all the templates one may need to generate product mockups.

  • Translator

    • With Canva’s built-in translator, it is no longer necessary to head over to Google Translate.

  • Flower QR

    • This app allows you to drive and measure consumer engagement with digital and printed materials that include a Flower Code QR. It also allows you to customize your QR code, giving you the option to add your logo, add boarders and change colors!

  • Text to Image

    • Canva has now implemented its version of AI art. All you have to do is type out what you want to see, and the generator will turn it into a visual in seconds.

  • Pexels and PixaBay

    • These applications provide you with thousands of free stock photos.

  • Pixton

    • With this app, there is access to avatars that can elevate your social media graphics.

  • Stipop

    • Stickers galore! This app has over 150,000 stickers to choose from. 

  • Adding Social Media Content

    • This feature allows you to add youtube videos, gifs, Instagram content, and Facebook photos to your designs.

  • Brandfetch

    • Brandfetch provides hundred of famous logos at your fingertips! No more searching through Google images!

  • IconDuck

    • Here you get access to over 300,000 open source icons and illustrations, free for personal and commercial projects.

Although Canva has been around since 2014, only recently has it become common knowledge to the everyday graphic designer and student. Canva has not been around as long as its competitor Adobe; nonetheless, it has proven to handle technological advancements well in contrast to its predecessors.
